We know it is important that you to know where your waste is going. At Job Done we view sustainability as an ongoing journey; with each job we aim to learn, grow & improve our sustainability practices. At the core of what we do & in line with the waste management hierarchy, we always prioritise re-use, repair & repurposing over recycling. Last of all, landfill.

When it comes to recycling, we only work with certified waste transfer stations, whose purpose-built machinery diverts the maximum possible from landfill.

Focussing on local growth allows us to continue building a network of individuals, families & charitable organisations in need, who can make use of a wide variety of items & materials.

In short, we do the very best we can, and aim to improve all the time, so you can relax knowing that your belongings are being dealt with sustainably.

Waste management hierarchy

Prevent & Reduce
Preventing & reducing waste is big, and goes way beyond us, but we try to do our bit. We use our social channels to share inspiration for lower waste living, and to build awareness of problems surrounding the waste we all produce.

We make use of reusable refuse sacks and crates when on the job, minimising the waste we produce along the way.

Re-use & Repair
This is what makes us different, and why our customers choose us. We work hard to re-use & repair as much as possible, and believe we get better at it all the time. We have invested in a space to work on repairs, and the more we repair, the more we can re-use. The more individuals & organisations we know, the more we can re-use. The better we get at stripping things down to get at the useful stuff, the more we can re-use.

Recycle
For this part we use trusted, certified waste transfer stations who have the best equipment for the job, diverting the maximum from landfill.

Recycling is great, but it is far from the best option, and we always sort through everything before taking it to the waste transfer station, to make sure we are re-using, repairing & repurposing as much as possible.
